The evening of July 15 witnessed the official launch of the 13th China Huangshan International Tourism Festival and Anhui Cultural Festival sponsored by China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee of Anhui Province, Anihui Provincial Government, Huangshan Communist Party Committee and Huangshan Municipal Government at the Huangshan Sports Stadium in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Comrade Deng Xiaoping’s “Huangshan Conversation”. This cultural event, announced by Bai Lichen, Vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, will last until July 20. Wang Jinshan, Party Secretary of Anhui Communist Party Committee and Shao Qiwei, Chairman of CNTA attended the opening ceremony. Wang Sanyun, Governor of Anhui Province and Wang Zhi, Vice-chairman of CNTA successively made their speeches. Nearly two thousand local citizens, high school representatives, domestic and international tourist representatives, representatives of outstanding local workers from all walks of life and representatives of China Tourism Industry Development Symposium and National Working Conference on Development of Rural Tourism were present at the opening ceremony.

 

The climax of all activities came as the theatrical show “Great Affection for China, the Caring Love of Huangshan” was brought to the stage. The performances, a full-scale presentation of the development and changes of Huangshan over 30 years, embodied the past, present and future in features: A Glance Back on History, Glorious Achievements and Looking into the Future. The City of Huangshan also received blessings from a number of international celebrities who showed up on the big screen.
