On October 29, Du Jiang, Vice Chairman of China National Tourism Administration, met with Charles Petruccelli, President of American Express Business Travel (American Express) and his party in Beijing.

 

Du Jiang said that since the policy of Chinese citizens going to travel in US was officially implemented in June last year, the number of Chinese citizens going to travel in US had reached over 700,000, and the Sino-US two-way exchange had achieved good returns. As the development of China's national economy and the improvement of people's living standard, the travel spending would see new growth and the prospect for China's tourism would be very broad. He also expressed his wish that American Express could take this opportunity to further business development in China and hoped that during the process of cooperation with China's tourism industry, American Express could introduce the experience in tourism management and operation to China in order to enhance the development of China's tourism industry.

 

Charles Petruccelli said that over the past six years, American Express and China International Travel Service had carried out fruitful cooperation, and expressed his thanks for the strong support of China National Tourism Administration. He also said that the developments of tourism and economy are inextricably linked, and American Express would continue to deepen the cooperation with Chinese tourism enterprises to achieved rapid progress.
