On November 6, CNTA Chairman Shao Qiwei met Mr. Lionel Yeo, CEO of Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in Beijing.
   

Chairman Shao said that Singapore was both a tourist source and destination for China. In recent years, the number of Chinese outbound tourists increased dramatically and will reach 95 million this year. Meanwhile, Chinese tourists exhibited strong consumption power. In 2012, they spent USD 102 billion out of China. China would like to enhance cooperation with the world in tourism sector. Singapore is known of developed tourism and good services. The two countries could probe into cooperation in tourism industrialization. He also introduced the formulation and execution of the Tourism Law and looked forward to enhanced communication with Singapore on joint efforts to standardize tourism market, improve services, and create favorable conditions for foreign visitors to China.
   

Mr. Yeo extended appreciation and said that China was an important tourist source for Singapore. Singapore would like to strengthen cooperation with China in cruise industry and discuss on new cooperation modes. Singapore appreciates the promulgation and execution of the Tourism Law and will attach greater importance to the experiences of Chinese tourists.
